SKiing

Classic ski & snowboarding options at nearby Gore Mountain typically goes well into April. Cross Country trails at Garnet Hill, the Ski Bowl and backcountry routes are all typically available well into spring.

Spring is a great time to chase out backcountry alpine missions in the Adirondack High Peaks with the Llama House making a great launching point.

Spring Snowshoeing & MIcrospiking

The Spring snow-pack melt leads to some of the dramatic scenes in the mountains. These incredible moments take some effort to seek out and you can expect to slog through what we affectionately here refer to as “Mud Season!”

Be advised - microspikes & often snowshoes are an absolute must in dangerously icy spring conditions.

Whitewater kayaking

As the snowpack melts and the rivers surge, experienced kayaks can chase out a variety of whitewater action. From the thunderous Hudson Gorge to the technical Boreas River, a variety of Class V action is available nearby in the springtime.

Plenty of mellow options exist for those that are not looking to dial up the intensity meter.
