Frequently asked questions
Why the llama House?
The short answer - Llamas are awesome and that’s a good enough reason
The long answer - This lodge is logical conclusion of my previous unsuccessful project, Live More Adventures. A brilliant recommendation from a friend to use a llama to represent “LMA” was the easiest decision I’ve ever made. Those trips were designed to bring groups of new friends together under one roof, exactly what the Llama House successfully does today!
Is there a real llama around?
Not at the moment but I promise we’re working on it! I can’t wait until the day that answer to this becomes and emphatic ‘Yes!’
what makes the llama house special?
You will be greeted by friendly faces - dog and human who are both heavily vested to make sure you make the absolute most out of your Adirondack experience. Whether that means hurrying you out the door to make sure you catch a spectacular sunset or honing an itinerary that’s just your speed.
Is this Place a lodge, hostel, bed & breakfast, boutique hotel?
Yes! We have worked hard to incorporate our favorite elements of lodging experiences from around the world to create our own version of what a vacation stay can look like.
I still don’t quite know what to expect….
That happens to us a lot, it’s tough to explain this place on a website! When you arrive you’ll have access to all the shared common areas - kitchen, bathrooms, game room, etc. along with the room that you’ve booked. Whether you want to lay low in some private space or come mingle, you’ll feel right at home!
Is this party a hostel?
The common connection of our guests is that experiencing the outdoors is their top priority. Folks are usually excited to celebrate their day and trade stories of the day’s adventure. However that scene is typically a casual gathering around a fire over a craft beer and s’mores.
Is the lodge available for private bookings?
Sometimes! While the true spirit of the Llama House is a shared lodging facility, we do close off the house for the occasional private group booking. Send us a message on the Contact Us page to start a discussion. Max group size is 10
